Three remarkable improvements with the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado has received an exciting upgrade for 2023. The battle is fierce in the full-size pickup segment and to stay on top, automakers have to consistently improve their offering. That’s exactly what Chevrolet did with the 2023 Chevy Silverado.

Here we take a look at three specific improvements that make the Silverado one of the most appealing full-size trucks in its segment. These improvements ensure optimal performance and capability, but also improved comfort and luxury on the road.

A more powerful diesel engine

If you like working with a diesel engine under the hood, it doesn't get much better than the Silverado's Duramax engine, a 3.0-liter inline-6 that benefits from a turbo. For 2023, the engine has been revised to offer more power. Chevrolet explains that the turbo has been reworked, there are new pistons, the combustion has been revised and new injectors have been grafted to the whole.

The result is a net gain of 28 horsepower and 35 pound-feet of torque, so that the model now offers 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

Better multimedia system

Improved in every way last year, it's important to reiterate that the Chevrolet Silverado's multimedia system is the most user-friendly in the industry. It offers the most features, wireless access to your favorite apps, Internet access points, voice command capability and a range of other features you will appreciate every day.

Above all, it is reliable and easy to use. There are a lot of infotainment systems on the market that offer a lot of functionality, but they often struggle to make everything user-friendly. Not so in the new Silverado.

Super Cruise

The Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system is now available with the top-of-the-line Silverado model. Eventually, more variants will be able to benefit from it. Most importantly, General Motors recently announced the addition of 320,000 km to the system, so that it can now operate on a total of 640,000 km of roads across Canada and the United States. That's the most comprehensive in its class. Super Cruise is one of the most advanced systems in the industry, giving you the ability to remove your hands from the steering wheel and let the vehicle operate. The system will follow the road and can even change lanes.
